Ms. Lai focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution, primarily in electronic and computer technologies. She has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide range of technology areas including artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, cybersecurity, semiconductor technologies, digital circuit designs, image and video processing, audience measurement technologies, aerospace engineering, and various hardware, and software solutions. In addition to her prosecution work, Ms. Lai is experienced in conducting patent landscape analyses, and providing due diligence studies on patent infringement and invalidity matters.

Prior to entering the legal field, Ms. Lai was an engineer at Agilent Technologies, where she gained extensive technical experience in electronics, signal processing, embedded systems, software and network technologies. Her engineering background, combined with her legal expertise, enables Ms. Lai to provide expert guidance to clients throughout the patent application process.
